The Holiday Season

It's the most wonderful time of the year when everyone acts nice for a month in hopes of getting back on the nice list for a Mr. Claus. Now that we live in a digital age and most of the family is on Facebook and most forms of social media, let's do a digital Christmas list this year. Great idea I know. Let's see if I can hard code this like a list shall we.
Starting with Clothes... remember as a child hating the thought of socks and tee shirts as gifts. Well as an adult it's not so bad. I could use some Socks and some Large tee shirts. Socks should be around ankle length. The best shirts can be found here. I could also use some restocking of undershirts. A peacoat would also be a sweet addition to my wardrobe. Those things are so badass an I am in dire need of an update from the retro jean jacket for the wintertime.
Moving on to books and the like. Sadly I have fallen out of the book scene but I could always use more art books. Something like this perhaps. I've also been meaning to look into the Looking Glass Wars series. Remember to start at the beginning there. Also as I am a closet type nerd, something like this would be pretty cool. I'd also love a subscription to ImagineFX magazine.
Onwards and upwards to movies. I want to flesh out my Pixar collection.
  • Toy story 1, 2, and 3
  • Cars
  • The Incredibles
  • Monsters Inc.
  • Cars
My apartment has been rather good this year and is looking for an Iron, Ironing board, possibly a George Forman grill, and a pull up bar ( the kind you screw into a door frame, not the kind that you latch onto the frame). Also one of those things that holds your dishes while they dry would be a lovely addition. Refrigerator magnets. Oh man I can't believe I almost left that one out. No one likes a naked fridge.
There are some rather sweet games on the market right now like Epic Mickey and Donkey Kong Country Returns. They even rereleased Golden Eye. These are all for the Wii btw. If someone attempts anything WoW related they will get laughed at to their face.
Some clever ideas for stocking stuffers would be tweezers, teddy grams, batteries (AA & AAA) Post-it notes. Soap in the shape of things like elephants or otters. I think that's a pretty good list

And they're off

So I'm officially out of the parents place and it feels good. I'm a rather large fan of my apartment. there may be a couple drawbacks right now... like the fact that with the heat on ( the heat I don't control) it gets up to 90 degrees inside. Or the extra leaky faucet in the bathroom. Does a leaky faucet count as an emergency? From a fiscal standpoint, that dripping water adds up but it won't damage the place. I'll try calling the office again tomorrow.

Tomorrow I have my first job interview. It's not my first job interview ever, just first one for a job I'm not a shoe in for since I was 13. Brings up all the old questions of what to wear, how to stand, how early is to early to arrive? It's a huge judgmental process. My main concern is how will they feel about the mohawk. Will it come up in conversation? Will that give me an ax from the start? I'm not extremely connected to it but I've had it for a while now. Eh, maybe it is time for change.

End of the final semester

I picked up my cap and gown yesterday and it is really starting to sink in that I am going to be done with college. 4 years went by quite fast. there have been ups and downs as is always the way with life... and I'm going to miss it. Right now I have projects out the wazoo to keep me occupied, but I would rather spend my time with the people that I won't be seeing again on a weekly basis. It's interesting to reflect back on the past 4 years and figure out how college has changed me. Here is to the next two weeks and one more goodbye.
